Bug Description

Binary package hint: apt-file

Today--after booting my laptop--I was greeted with a dialog which said that apt-file needed an update. After clicking the update-button, a console window opened and performed the desired update, before closing silently. The first dialog (update needed) was still present and still gave me the options to either perform the update or close the dialog.

At this point, it wasn't clear whether the update was properly done or whether one needs to run it again. In any case, the initial dialog should either close automatically or display a message box that the update was
successful.

Edit: The dialog I'm talking about can be seen here: http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/apt-file.png

I've this bug too. In fact this bug occurred just when I installed apt-file with Synaptic. I'm running maverick and use the repo, so I installed the version 2.4.0 of apt-file
