Bug Description

When running mythbuntu 10-10 (maverick) the gnome session restarts unexpectedly returning to the login screen. Examination of syslog shows this happens immediately after the message "acpid: client XXXX has disconnected".

This occurs most frequently whilst using firefox (it happened twice during my attempts to report this bug) and also approximately every 2 hours. I tried to debug the issue (I initially thought it was nm-applet). I am reporting it as a regression as following an install of mythbuntu 10.04 (lucid) the problem has not re-occurred. I have both 10.04 and 10.10 installed on the same system and can switch between them.

Same problem here (as described on some forum messages): unexpectedly logged out after pressing some keys which are not a shortcut (e.g. Alt Gr + Ctrl + Enter, possibly). I'm using pae kernel 2.6.35.28.36 but it happened before in the same way, if I remember correctly. I'm on an Asrock E350M1 motherboard with 4GB ram.

May 8 10:38:42 <username> acpid: client XXXX[0:0] has disconnected

and also it (I don't know if it's just a coincidence) happens just at the same time as I middle clicked on a link to open a new tab which points to this link: http://mediaplayer.yahoo.com/

Kind regards,

CoolDreamZ, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please attach information following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/Other#Problem_results_in_X_crash_or_exit ? As well, Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.
