Bug Description

Sorry if this report is not very detailed, I don't know how to gather more information about it.

On a clean install of edgy I noticed that the update manager doesn't install the updates. From command line:

fdr@bart:~$ update-manager
Introspect error: The name org.freedesktop.UpdateManager was not provided by any .service files
no listening object (The name org.freedesktop.UpdateManager was not provided by any .service files)

It shows me the available updates, I ask to install them, I'm asked for the password, then I see a couple of progress bars that quickly complete and then again I get back to the list of the available updates which are still there.

The following instead works just fine:

fdr@bart:~$ set | grep LANG
LANG=it_IT.UTF-8
fdr@bart:~$ unset LANG
fdr@bart:~$ update-manager
Introspect error: The name org.freedesktop.UpdateManager was not provided by any .service files
no listening object (The name org.freedesktop.UpdateManager was not provided by any .service files)
fdr@bart:~$

I had the possibility to check the buggy behaviour more accurately.

When I ask for the updates to be installed, the progress bars that I see are: "Generazione dell'albero delle dipendenze" (Generating dependencies tree) and after that I see "Reading state information" (in English). After that the application return to the list of available updates.
