Bug Description
Unity is not usable enough for me to use it for more than a few minutes, but I keep trying so I often switch between the Classic and Desktop mode. In Classic mode, I use Metacity with compositing enabled. Because of that, when I'm using Unity, Dash and all the indicators are totally broken (they are invisible).
Disabling compositing for Metacity in gconf make it work. Compiz seems to be importing that.
gconf key: /apps/metacity/

Fabien, the dash and indicators are features of Unity, which itself is a compiz-plugin. Compiz is a window-manager, like metacity. But metacity does not have the ability to load compiz-plugins, thus you will never be able to see them if you're running metacity instead of compiz.
