Thanks for your patch but debian still has python 2.5 http:// packages. qa.debian. org/p/python2. 5.html which will be phased out as squeeze releases I guess and according to this http:// wiki.debian. org/Python/ 27transition at wheezy they are thinking to support both py2.6 and py2.7 So it will be a better idea to talk to debian maintainer and ask him weather he can provide normalized python support so as to make the package run in both debian and ubuntu and then sync it through
