when selecting an "i" that's preceded by an f, an f is displayed instead

if you select the word "figured" on the 8th line of the second page, it looks like "ffgured". See the attached screenshot.

Something similar happens with the word "afford" in the third-to-last line on page 2.
If you select the second f and the o, the o gets overlaid with another f.
