Bug Description

* Using Ubuntu 10.10
* kdebase-workspace (plasma-desktop) 4:4.5.1-0ubuntu8
* konqueror: 4:4.5.1-0ubuntu4
* other packages?

When reporting a bug, a konqueror window is said to be opened for entering further details (? my standard browser is firefox-4.0). Instead of opening one window containing the launchpad web site, a few dozens if not hundreds of windows are opened, plasma-desktop goes crazy (content of taskbar, I/O and CPU), the little konqueror icon below the mouse pointer switches to ADHD-maniac-mode, the whole system just gets unusuable for quite a moment. After a while, all these konqueror windows collapse bit by bit; when reaching zero, the "transferring..." window from the crash reporter opens again, and the whole thing is going to loop if not aborted/paused in that little window that just gives you a few seconds to react.

It can also be stopped by killing plasma-desktop and waiting a few moments until no new konqueror windows are created (the little mouse icon...), and starting it again. When done in a console window, the following output can be observed when reproducing the bug:
<start>
QPainter::setRenderHint: Painter must be active to set rendering hints
QPainter::translate: Painter not active
QPainter::save: Painter not active
QPainter::translate: Painter not active
QPainter::rotate: Painter not active
QPainter::restore: Unbalanced save/restore
QPainter::rotate: Painter not active
QPainter::begin: Paint device returned engine == 0, type: 2
<end> (don't know where that starts, the console is just flooded with these lines)

LOL, a little outdated, huh? With all the unsolved KDE problems (without further support or even fixes) I had in maverick I quickly moved onto natty prior to final release, and I'm now on oneiric...
