Sorry.. I don't understand or see what the "GtkRange artifacts" are in the screen shot that you indicated.

I am looking a the same dialog in Gimp 2.4.5 (in Ubuntu 8.04) and I can't see any significant difference, so I'm probably missing something.

Are you able to confirm that the artifacts are still there, or have been removed in the latest version?

Don't you see the remainder of the regular GtkRange appearance at the beginning and the end of the range selectors (H, S and V for instance).

The artifacts are still there...

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Intrepid Ibex. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

Looking at gimp 2.4.7 in intrepid alpha 6 the artifact is much smaller than i your screenshot and only on the left side. I'm using the NewHuman theme.

Sven, can you confirm this?

I don't run Intrepid. I need my computers for daily work; I can't run a potentially unstable distribution.

But feel free to attach a screenshot and we'll see.
