device doesn't generate output

Bug Description
I just tried the git HEAD version and /dev/video0 is registered, but it doesn't generate any buffers. I've been testing with gst-launch autovideosrc ! ffmpegcolorspace ! autovideosink
This used to work sometime ago when I was on Ubuntu 10.04.
I have a macbook 4,1.
$ dmesg |grep isight
[ 28.543986] usbcore: registered new interface driver isight_firmware
