Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-image-
I turned the quiet and splash kernel parameters off;
I have a USB keyboard and mouse, when I attempt to boot I get;
No PS/2 Controller found. Probing ports directly.
The system then hangs.
If I plug a PS/2 keyboard in I get;
Controller doesn' have AUX irq; using default 12.
The system then hangs
I can however boot this kernel if I disable USB entirely from the BIOS. This is not an option as I have a USB printer, keyboard, DVD, floppy, camera and external hard disk.
help.
This has happened to me everytime I have tried to boot with an Ubuntu smp-enabled kernel (Intel Core 2 Duo). If I switch to just the -386 kernel, everything works fine. SMP kernels from other distributions seem to work, so this seems to be specific to the Ubuntu configuration/ patchset.
