Bug Description

I set up thinkfinger according to http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to_enable_the_fingerprint_reader_with_ThinkFinger

It works well with GDM (login), unlock screen, the Software-Center and the Updater.
In all those instances, I am asked to enter my password or "swipe finger". If I do the latter it works just fine.

When running a command via sudo in the terminal, I do not even get the option to "swipe finger". It's just as before.
Same goes for any application using gksu (i.e. Synaptic).

According to Seems bug#649716 I'm lacking "uinput".
It's just strange that it works in many instances.
Sorry, I'm looking into this and will report back.

Alright, I just reverted everything I did.
Now I have only thinkfinger-tools and libpam-thinkfinger installed. Then I ran
  sudo tf-tool --acquire
to store my fingerprint and made me the owner of ~/.thinkfinger.bir

That's it. No udev rule, no fingerprint group.
Interestingly, it now works fine for GDM and the Software Center but stopped working with lock screen (and it still doesn't work with sudo and gksu).

I hope this helps somehow.

btw: I'm still confused about the uinput issue. Is this module missing from Maverick's kernel?
