Bug Description

Trying to update a team +contactaddress, such as:

  https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-font-beta-testing/+contactaddress

states "...@....com is already registered in Launchpad and is associated with ...".

The fact that it *is* associated with a user account, is *precisely* the reason that I'm trying to direct the contact point email there.

(A user reported that the only address they could find was kwwii's (the current setting).

Users can use the 'contact this team' facility in launchpad to contact the team members. We could have a 'contact this teams administrators' or similar I guess?

As far as the display of email addresses, due to spam we generally don't - and won't - show email addresses. Users can opt-in to having their email address shown to other users.

We also have a constraint of one account per email address, and teams having an email address need it to be similarly unique. These constraints are fairly core to our design, though we could in principle change them.

What is the actual issue you're trying to solve?

Changed in launchpad:
status: New → Triaged
status: Triaged → Incomplete

Somehow 'kwwii@c.com' ended up being set for this field in the first palce Any idea what codepath was used to do so?

That address is only used for the ubuntu-font-beta-testing team: its
not used elsewhere at all.

Obviously not since Ken left the company... but before, it would have been for several years (I believe).

Nope, not in our schema.
