Bug Description
Upon installing 2.6.35-25-generic from maverick-proposed, a serious regression causes display corruption to the point of making my system completely unusable.
I have a Samsung SyncMaster 305T 2560x1600 monitor (requires dual-link DVI) with a Radeon 4670 graphics card. There were some serious kernel mode setting bugs in the past related to dual-link displays, not sure if those bugs might be rearing their ugly head again.
Although my hardware setup isn't very common (monitor), this proposed kernel should *not* be released into updates/security till this bug is fixed. This is a ruin-your-day regression.

Confirmed - this bug also affects me. I have also had to reboot into 2.6.35-24 to use my machine.
Unlike the original reporter, I am using a standard BenQ G900 panel, not a dual-link monitor. Graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 4850:
