Bug Description

Some hotkeys not working when NUM lock is enabled
how to debug or reset settings?

CTRL+ALT+T (open terminal)
SUPER key (open unity places)
ALT+F2 (open launch dialog - maybe this issue is present also in Unity3D... gmrun should be installed)

Hi Lucazade

I have found that if i have NUM lock on then the super key shortcut doesn't work. As soon as i turn the NUM lock off the super key opens Unity. Therefore I have marked this bug as confirmed. I have also updated the description.

Hi

I seem to have a problem with just turning off num lock.

If I have Num Lock ON then:

Unity places doesn't work (super key)
but Compiz effects do eg
super + a
super + e

If I have Num Lock OFF then:

Unity places does work (super)
but then compiz effect don't eg
super + a
super + e

It just brings up Unity instead of, for example, Expo.

I know that most people who will be using the 2D version of unity won't be using Compiz effects but i just wanted to highlight this before someone goes and makes Unity work with Num lock but then breaks Compiz effects.

Note that some Compiz effect still work, eg super + scroll mouse. However this effect does zoom in but then it brings up unity when you release the super key. So it is actually very annoying.

Hope that helps someone trying to fix this.

Andy

Also can other people confirm the same behaviour?

I just noticed that the superkey partially works with the num lock on. If I already have the Dash up and the num lock on - I can hit the superkey and it makes the Dash disappear - it just will not bring it up - interesting.
