1. Availability:
The package is already in universe and builds fine for amd64, armel, i386 and powerpc.

2. Rationale:
The package is useful for a large part of our user base. It offers a simple way to manage partitions and filesystems, therefore the Kubuntu team decided in one of the last meetings, that we would like to put it on the live cd.

3. Security:
The following checks have been done and no vulnerabilities have been found:

There aren't results found searching in the National Vulnerability Database using the package as a keyword.

There aren't references to this package in Ubuntu CVE Tracker (universe, main and partner).

The package does not install executables in /sbin, /usr/sbin.

The package does not provide add-ons or plugins to security-sensitive software in the system.

4. Quality assurance:
The package is easily usable after installation and does not need any special configuration.

The package does not ask for debconf questions.

Upstream still cares about this projekt, last bugfix release is from Sep 2010

No major bug is open against partitionmanager.

5. UI standards:
partitionmanager is translateable to other languaes and is already translated in other languages.

The package ships a standard conformant .desktop file.

6. Dependencies:
All dependencies are already included in main repository section.

8. Maintenance:
The package is maintained in Debian by the "KDE Extras Team", and in Ubuntu by the "Ubuntu/Kubuntu Developers".
