Do you have linux-restricted-modules-generic installed? Could this be the same as Bug #62452?

No, it does not seem like the same bug. I have linux-restricted-modules-generic installed and yet it doesn't see my wireless card at eth1, as it happens with 2.6.15. What kind of additional information would help?

Thanks!

sudo apt-get install linux-wlan-ng

This will give you the wlancfg program used to configure madwifi.

Without touching anything, the wlan started working today... Maybe it got fixed in some recent upgrade? I had tried just 5 days ago and it failed...

Anyway, problem solved, just don't know how.

Thanks for the suggestion, Ben.
