Bug Description

Binary package hint: libnautilus2-2

On a clean installed edgy system :
One drive in SATA and another in ultraATA
I precise that I'm tried defragmenting volumes.
So figuring that edgy now had a driver to read/write to an ntfs partition I've formated entirely this data disk who was in FAT32 to NTFS with the use of ntfs-3g.
After that I've notified that the file transfert was very slow between my two disk (XFS and NTFS-3G)
A simple file transfert of big files (300Mo +) takes like 5 minutes between my Desktop(no home partition) to this NTFS disk mounted in /media. In dapper the same tranfert taked 20 or 30 sec maximum.
so thinking that ntfs-3g driver was not very usable I've re-formeted my disk to FAT32
hopping that the speed of files transfert come back. No chance, the same bug is here. I've also tried a defragmentation, always a slow file transfert.

I've found a solution, I've installed thunar and the files tranferts are good, like 10 to 20 times faster than nautilus. so i've tried a simple "cp" in a terminal and the speed tranfert is also good. With konqueror too. The problem is only in nautilus

To testing deeply this problem i've formated an usb disk in xfs in /media/usbdisk but always the same problem !! and as always thunar is 20 times faster

Also I've in memory that in the ubuntu forum one person had the same problem.
More precisions:
my repositories are the ones from ubuntu but in universe, no extra-repositories.
I've notified that sometimes the file transfert is acceptable and when the file transfert is slow, my disk led on my machine blink only one time in 4sec. I precise that with small files like 10 or 20 ko to file transfert speed between nautilus and thunar are sensibly the same...

Hoping this problem was solved (thunar is too simple for me and konqueror too complicated)

Well,
After a long time with this probleme I can say it could be because my disk is an xfs drive, according to this there is a problem since 2005 !!!
