Bug Description

Binary package hint: ecb

Since I upgraded to Natty, ecb is mostly broken in emacs23.
ecb itself is the same version which used to work just fine.

Now, after an "ecb-activate", the ecb menu is empty and when editing python, it also breaks the python menu.

100% reproducible on different computers.

it's a regression.

oh, I forgot to mention that ecb didn't change since Hardy (d'oh!). So it could be a regression in emacs23.

I can not install ecb on a fresh install:

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
ecb : Depends: eieio (>= 1.1) but it is not installable
Depends: semantic (>= 1.1) but it is not installable

Cedet and friends were removed in Natty because the functionality is now included with Emacs (bug #733527). I'm adding a link to the upstream bug in Debian.
