Bug Description

Binary package hint: kde

If I select shutdown while in a KDE session the screen goes blanks and the cpu goes to 100% (fan turns on). If I first "end session" and then "shutdown" from the KDM screen this does not happen.

Have tried acpi=focrced and removing load extmod from xorg.conf, neither had any affect.

Does not seem to be reproducible in Ubuntu 6.10

Kubuntu 6.10, Toshiba U250-S5002

There is a relationship with the network, if I'm on a wired network this problem does not occur.

In the .34 kernel this happens every time regardless of the network.

Problem does not happen with the 386 kernel, only "generic". This is Centrino Duo cpu

Good afternoon,

I am wondering if you are still having problems with having to end the session before shutdown. I have not noticed this on either my Gutsy or Hardy install. Could you please update teh status of this bug?

THanks,

JOnathan
