Bug Description
When logging in ubuntu natty 11.04 alpha1 (with both unity and the classic Desktop (gnome-panel)), the desktop background is showing normally but there are no launcher, no files and no display of the mounted disk,as one would normally expect (see attached screenshot). The right-click feature (giving access the the appearance preference for example) is also unavailable. This bug is strange and new, as previous use of this version of ubuntu didn't reveal that kind of problem.

I am actually not sure about what I did, but editing the preferences through the configuration editor application seems to have fixed the problem. However, I am sure I never change those settings before this bug so I really don't know what happened...
