Bug Description
I loaded a high resolution background image to trace a
circuit. When zooming in close memory usage
skyrockets. The system starts swapping and things come
to a grinding halt. Without the background image this
does not happen.
I using version pcb-20060422 with fedora 5 and 1.5G ram.

One workaround is to reduce the resolution of the image. The background feature is not used often enough to warrant optimizing it.
