Kubuntu setting default browser doesn't affect gnome/gtk apps

Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

I went into K-Menu->System Settings->Default Applications->Web Browser and set my preferred browser to be firefox. This has worked for KDE applications -- clicking on a URL in Kopete for example will now open it in Firefox. Ironically, it doesn't work for my gnome applications. Gaim will still try open URLs in Konqueror, for example. As long as I'm in KDE, all apps should obey the setting.

That fix works for me but it won't help people who want to have different browser preferences for different users :/ Either way of course Guidance should be fixed.

Yes, of course. This is a bug and it should be fixed. :)
