Default settings prevent BitTorrent from downloading multiple files simultaneously

Bug Description

Bittorrent can't download more than one file simultaneously, trying to do results in the following error: (98, 'Address already in use').

From the comments below it seems like that's caused because each Bittorrent instance needs a different port, and the gconf setting "apps / gnome-btdownload / settings / max_port" has the same value as the min_port one (ie, it only allows it to use a single port).

Hi, I can confirm this bug; turns out that in the gconf settings for gnome-btdownload, the min_port and max_port are both set to 6881. If you change max_port to a higher number, the problem is solved.

So the max port has to be set higher to allow more than one torrent to run at the same time. Can we get that changed for the next release?

changed /usr/share/gconf/schemas/gnome-download.schemas .....don't work..

changed /usr/share/gconf/schemas/gnome-download.schemas with dapper...don't work.

Same problem (Feisty),

I can't download more than one torrent at once.
I did not have this problem on Dapper.

Confirmed error in Feisty. The above port change for "6881" to "6886" fixed it.

the fix has been committer nowhere. no clue why somebody would have marked it as such.
