suspend doesn't work on HP Envy 15 with 10.10

Bug Description

the suspend feature doesn't work on the HP Envy 15 laptop, when using Ubuntu 10.10. the same system with Ubuntu 10.04 suspended fine.

(hibernation didn't used to work, but suspend did)

my expectation was that the suspend facility would continue to work after an Ubuntu upgrade

Same problem is faced by other user also.This type of bug has been filed earlier . So please view the old bug .

the bug reported as the duplicate of this one has been marked as 'fixed', but suspsend still doesn't work on the HP Envy 15. so I guess it's not really a duplicate issue then.

as said earlier, suspend worked in Ubuntu 10.04 - it's really annoying that functionality is lost with an upgrade.

how can I mark this bug as not a duplicate of #644223 ?
