Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. gnome-shell was removed from natty in bug #690045. There seems to be a problem in that the maverick binaries are available in natty, I filed bug #695370 to address this. gnome-shell will be staged with the rest of gnome3 in a PPA for natty. Please report any other issues you may find.
