Bug Description

By default on Dapper and Edgy, the Wifi LED of the Compaq nc6210 is not working.

It's really easy to enable it :

Wifi Status LED can be made to work easily by creating/editing /etc/modprobe.d/ipw2200. i.e. 'sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/ipw2200' add the following text to it, save, and after your next reboot you will have a functioning blue LED.

options ipw2200 led=1

(see : https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/HPNC6120?highlight=%28nc6120%29 )

It must be done by default.

This should probably be added to /etc/modprobe.d/options.

This is a duplicate of bug 71463. It is common on laptops with the ipw2200 wireless driver. Please continue further discussion on that bug.

And I think Michael is correct, though I have only tested with putting that option in /etc/modprobe.d/ipw2200 .
