Also can't get initramfs, Python, or Plymouth to update. Tried to download latest versions of the Python and Plymouth packages using Synaptic. They would not update after extraction. Same issue with libvte9, sysvinit-utils, ubuntu-sso-client. This happened during first attempt to update after installing Ubuntu 10.10 on a USB drive insing pendrivelinux executable file.
