sound does not come out of the headphones when they are plugged in

Bug Description

When the headphones are plugged into the ports on the front, sound is played out of the normal desktop speakers instead of the headphones.

Hi Teej and thanks for reporting this bug. Is this still a problem in the latest Natty (with a 2.6.38 based kernel)? I've been running the codec in an emulator and the speaker seems to mute properly there.
