Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Firefox > File > Print > Options > Header and Footer: Title, Page Number, URL, Date/Time

I'm in locale New York/United States and use Paper-Size "US Letter."

When printing from Firefox and Printing To File (PDF), Firefox puts the Header/Footer information inside the margins. The content of the page being printed should appear within the margins. The header/footer information (i.e., Title, Page#, URL, and Date/Time) should appear in the corners of the page (i.e., without any paper-space around it).

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. If the information isn't within the margins (which is assumed to be the printer's printing area), how can the header and footer be displayed?

Please see the following attachments as an example of what I am referring to. Headers and Footers should be printed/appear OUTSIDE the margins. This the nature of calling them Headers and Footers. The contents of the page are defined/confined by the established margins. Ubuntu is printing the headers and footers within the margins space (as a result thereby shrinking the view of the page's content. Notice the Windows created PDF prints the headers and footers properly, giving all the space within the margins for the page's content.

Placing the header/footer information within the margins is VERY unorthodox. It unnecessarily forces the page's main contents to be shrunk so that the header/footer information can fit inside the margins. The main content of the pages that I print off from PDFs and the internet show up as unnecessarily small--shrunken and not using all the room on the page. It makes using Ubuntu to print things off less and less desirable. I find myself preferring to print from Windows because of this.
