Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

I have this problem since several releases, and this is the major reason I always switch off from compiz. I often use fullscreen windows, and 8 workspaces with heavy switching between them, Sometime (I can't tell the exact reason but it does not happen always) when I switch back a workspace with a fullscreen window, panels can be seen over my fullscreen window, so I have to use ALT-TAB which fixes the problem. It is quite annoying for me, since usually I have terminals in fullscreen and I just change between them (by workapce changes configured with kbd hotkeys) for second to check things, so often the need to use ALT-TAB to fix the problem heavily affects my experience with compiz. Now it's a freshly installed ubuntu 10.10 32 bit, but I had this problem since several releases (though then were other bugs too for me with compiz so it was not the only problem worth to look after it more seriously). Thanks.

Ok, it seems if I change workspace away then back everything is OK. However, if I change workspace away and use ALT-TAB there and _then_ change back, panel can be seen and overlapping my full screen window.

Very irritating bug. It seems that when you switch back to the workspace with the fullscreen terminal, you can still type into that terminal (i.e. it has not lost focus), but the panels hang over the top.

@Adam: Yes, exactly, it still has the focus (btw, as far as I can remember I had the experience with compiz tn the past that it also lost the focus, it was even more annoying bug for me), but the panels can be seen "on them" so overlapping some part of precious area of the terminal. Since I am using many terminals (on more workspaces, some of them I full screen, some of them are not) it's a problem for me to work in an efficent way with this bug. This is the main reason I can't use compiz, but "I have to" use plain metacity, since it's not affected by this bug.

Just to note, that it's a problem with natty too, with and without unity (but with compiz, for sure).
