Since this is not security-sensitive, I'm switching this bug to public status. Also, I was able to use bzr without issues by reverting python2.7 to 2.7.1-1ubuntu4, it seems like the upload of 2.7.1-2 is the most likely cause for the issue, so adding a task for python2.7.
