Bug Description
Whilst useful the FakeFluidDB class isn't really a true mock class since it doesn't have the same calls or return values as the "real" FluidDB class.
This can be confusing (especially for reviewers) since the code in the tests doesn't look like how it is used in the real world.
Lets try to clean things up.
