Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

I have two MSN accounts, and both are @gmail.com instead of traditional @hotmail.

Usually, most of the time, I use only one of them for everyday. Very frequently and after a couple of time (maybe laptop stays a night without turning off, but empathy logged off or closed), when I try to re-login, Empathy stucks and never connects nor display any error. Just stays at "connecting".

Butterfly Debug show this:

---- Begin ----
butterfly/connection-INFO: 21/12/10 20:47:32.448802: Using direct proxy: None
butterfly/connection-INFO: 21/12/10 20:47:32.455080: Using http proxy: None
butterfly/connection-INFO: 21/12/10 20:47:32.455945: Using https proxy: None
papyon/papyon.msnp2p.transport-INFO: 21/12/10 20:47:32.456991: Registering transport <NotificationP2PTransport object at 0x9e0bdec (papyon+msnp2p+transport+base+BaseP2PTransport at 0x9903950)>
butterfly/connection-ERROR: 21/12/10 20:47:32.459719: Failed to create Connection
---- End ----

Some other times, with the same behavour, the Debug displays:

---- Some other logs (I missed them) ----
butterfly/presence-INFO: 21/12/10 20:56:47.161583: Setting Presence to 'NLN'
butterfly/presence-INFO: 21/12/10 20:56:47.161921: Setting Personal message to ''
---- End ----

If I enable the other MSN @gmail account, then I get logged on correctly and I can use it without any issue.

If I rename the affected account to @hotmail, then tries to login and shows a user/password error (as expected). If I rename it back, then shows network error and the renaming is not completed. I have to remove and add again the account. Doing so, also keeps failing the login as before.

I have to reboot the whole Laptop to get login back in the original account.

Of course it is working the account. Any other IM Apps is working fine.

So, to resume the issue:

I have two @gmail accounts.
I use one of them daily. The other one is used very unfrequently.
Sometimes, and after a while of having the laptop turned on, you can't login back. No error message, just stucks at connecting.
The other account can login correctly and is working fine.
Renaming the account, removes that stuck (fails on user/password, as expected).
Removing/Adding the account does nothing. The issue remains.
Closing Empathy does nothing. The issue remains after reopening it.
Rebooting the Laptops resolves the issue.

Since this happens very frequently, if you need further logs or enable some kind of debug, you can ask me for them and send me further instructions. When the issue happens again, I would be glad to provide them.
