Thanks for reporting this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
The logs show that /etc/resolv.conf is not a symbolic link, and that is why the package upgrade refused to complete the configuration step. You might try moving it out of the way
mv /etc/resolv.conf /etc/resolv. conf.custom conf.custom /etc/resolv.conf
ln -s /etc/resolv.
then re-trying the install. Please let us know if that succeeded.
