On 10.10 . If I install flash-installer , it reports success , however it has failed:

The Flash plugin is NOT installed.
The reason this is failing is that it going DIRECT, ignoring the system proxy settings:

Manually set http_proxy env var (as follows, NB address of proxy anonymoused)
# http_proxy= xx.yy.zz. 99:3128 apt-get install flashplugin- installer
This installs OK. Using synaptic / or missing out env setting above causes it to fail.
(missing a step where the system proxy is loaded?)
