Can not see deleted files in the Recycle Bin.

Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

I deleted the file through the button "delete".
1. Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat.
2. i-386 seems
3. I expected that deleted files will be in the basket. But they are not there.

which filesystem is the drive that you deleted the data? is it ntfs set to automount on startup?

Yes, I have NTFS and it is mounted during startup.
I'm still a beginner.

thats a known bug specifically for ntfs/vfat and is reported as 192629 for the moment you could use a workaround i.e. to change your mount options to include user permissions. for example if its 'defaults'(could be 'noatime' or 'relatime' or maybe multiples) change it to 'defaults,umask=007,uid=1000,gid=1000' you can see the duplicate bug for any workarounds.

Not entirely clear. Please, describe the steps one after another. In particular, it is not clear how the mounting will affect the display of deleted files in the Recycle Bin.

you wont be able to recover the data that got deleted but this will prevent it from happening next time. see comments in the duplicate bug report for the workaround
