Bug Description

Binary package hint: adept-updater

Just after upgrading Kubuntu installation from Dapper to Edgy Eft (following instructions on kubuntu.org for update via the net, ie replacing all dapper with edgy in sources.list and so on) the adept updater reported i had 30 new packages that required updating.

I hit the button for adding all updates. What happens then is adept-updater goes to the status screen (where you will usually see progress) and then very quickly (too quickly) closes. In the system tray, the adept-updater icon "traffic sign" is still there, and it reports 30 packages that requires updating. Consequently, in the above process the updates did not take place.

Afterwards I added the packages one by one, which seemed to work. I got a little bit more courageus and tried five by five, which worked. Last batch I did was 10 packages, which also worked.

My conclusion was that there may be a bug somehow related to the add all updates button, which causes the updating process to terminate early without actually adding updates.

Good evening,

I was looking at the different bugs assigned to the package adept and noticed this. I see that you were having problems updating all of the packages in your upgrade from Dapper to Edgy. As it has been since 2006-10-29, since this bug was updated I was wondering if you are still having problems with this bug?
Could you please update this bug to let us know if there is still a problem?

THanks,

Jonathan
