Bug Description

At my work we use a proxy server. Since Ubuntu One for Windows doesn't have an option for a proxy server to connect to, it's not usable for me.

How can this be a wishlist? the whole purpose according to your wiki is for people forced to use windows for work and I have never worked where there is not a proxy server. must be 9 out of 10 for those at work.

Probably the same issue as 688543

Agreed whith Andrew.
This feature should be in the base requirements for this kind of software.

I'm more and more surprised when new "cloud" software doesn't provide features concerning :
- Proxying
- SSH/SSL (hope this is the case for this client)

By the way, thanks for your efforts. Ubuntu One is now in my list of principal services.
I hope this could be fixed in the mid term because i want to subscribe a 20-Pack, but i'm primarily connected when at work behind the proxy :/

I personally consider this to be also an important thing to have. It has been set up as a wishlist item just because we want to make sure that there are other 'more' important things to fix. I'll take a look at this as soon as I have the time since first I have to ensure that the solution can be ran in a more efficient way.

Yes, I understand that most of the windows users are i corporate networks, and while this item is a whislist, I'll do my best to get it landed in trunk.

Thanks Manuel,

but until this feature will be not avaiable, I'll not understand too all the benefits of this great tool.

And I'm not alone: most people like me works behind a proxy and unfortunely most of us are windows users, so I think that this feature should be considered a critical feature. Thanks

I've just added Ubuntu one to my desktop PC at my work and nothing appears in Ubuntu One folder despite the fact the identification acting correctly. My PC is under a proxy, so I think it's the source of the problem.
Thanks to to develop the functionality rapidly.

Since we now use the linux client code I'll be setting this bug as a duplicate of the one that states the exact same issue in the shared project. lp: 387308

Whaaaa :\ I'll switch my office computer on Ubuntu in the few weeks... i had hoped that i could use UO on it... shame :(
Ok but that's a good news if the code base is now shared and consolidated with the one of the linux client.

Thanks for informing us Manuel.

I can see this has been resolved for the core Ubuntu One project, but the latest installer (3.0.2b) still has this issue. Any ideas when a new installer will be released?

3.0.2b supports proxy on windows, from the system configuration. In other words, if you have proxy set in your web browser, it should "just work". One exception for this is PAC files (proxy autoconfiguration) which is unsupported.
