cover-thumbnailer-gui crashes: "gobject.GError: Unhandled tag: 'requires'"

I am using an old version of Ubuntu (Jaunty) and the .deb for version 0.8.1. It installs with no errors, but does not run. When I run the configuration GUI, it crashes with this message,

This looks very similar to a bug in computer-janitor that was fixed by simply adding a dependency on python-gtk2 >= 2.16. Please see the bug here,

I added python-gtk2 >= 2.16 to the dependencies but the problem is that on Jaunty, there is only the version 2.14 in the repos... so you will need to upgrade this package...
