Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 2200c Scanned pages get a vertical half in wrong color (dark if in B/W)

Please check the screenshot attached.
This effect never happens for the first page. After restart of the simple-scan, i can scan another page or two.
Sometimes i can scan even 4 pages without problems.

Never get this issue when scan via GIMP.

Please reopen, this occurs to me as well when scanning from the gimp.

If it happens when scanning from the gimp as well, then it is most certainly not a problem with simple-scan but with sane-backends/the scanner driver. You might reassign the ticket here, but writing to sane-devel http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/sane-devel will more likely result in useful feedback.
