Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Attempted to play video at http://www.youtube.com/tmvDave and several different videos at news.bbc.co.uk. The YouTube video gets as far as a window for playing the video but I get no video controls and the video does not start. BBC reports that I have an incorrect flash player version and should visit the Adobe software site to get the correct version. These same videos play with no problems under Opera on the same system.

This could be a problem with either FF or the flash plug-in. That flash behaves as expected under Opera seems to indicate a FF problem. I have successfully played flash video under FF but that was several updates ago.

DaveAtFraud,

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu and Firefox since that time.

Do you still see a problem that is any way related to the one that you reported? Please let us know if you do.

If we do not hear from you this bug report will close in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.

8 year old bug. I don't even have the hardware that I was running then any more. Unless someone else can re-create it with current releases, I'd say close it as "too old to bother with."
