The "execute" button in gpass won't open website in browser

Bug Description

I've recently upgraded from Dapper to Edgy (fresh reinstall) and since doing so gpass won't open links in my browser.
When I click the execute button I get an error in the status bar saying:

Failed execution `': Text was empty (or contained only whitespace)

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or just something I've overlooked (although I've checked my preferred applications to make sure that firefox2 was setup properly and it is.....and everything else works like opening a link from the terminal)

I can confirm this issue.

I have tested this using a Dapper hard installation and the LiveCD as well as with a Edgy hard install and LiveCD. Installing gpass in Dapper (and I believe also in Hoary, although I did not test that) sets the launcher preference (found by clicking Edit, the Preferences, then the Launchers tab) for "general" to be "gnome-open @hostname@" by default. In both the Edgy hard install and LiveCD, the preference is missing causing the error given above.

To have GPASS executing your current browser and opening the hostname associated with the entry, go to
EDIT > PREFERENCES

Double click in the cell besides "General" and below "Launcher". Then type:

gnome-open @hostname@

press ENTER (important,) then click OK

Now click in Execute, and Gpass should open your browser in the site of your hostname.

the site comes up without the userid and the password, i must be doing something wrong or missing on an instruction?

@DPoirier this application doesn't pass a login/password to the browser itself. GPass simply keeps the record of all the authorisation data you put in so you can easily find those in the future. You can copy your password to the clipboard using CTRL+SHIFT+C and soon after execute the host page with ALT+R, then paste your password with CTRL+V.
