Reading unread posts does not update Messaging Menu

Binary package hint: liferea

If liferea is running and there are unread posts, the count of these unread posts shows in the messaging menu. If I go to liferea by selecting its item *in* the messaging menu, the unread counts are correctly removed. However, if I go to liferea without going through the messaging menu (for instance, with alt-tab) and then read the posts, the messaging menu's unread count is not updated, which leaves me thinking that there are unread posts in liferea when there are not.

I think this has been fixed in 1.8.3, which recently landed in Precise. Stuart, can you confirm this?
