Bug Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. The initial size of the bottom panel is too large. It almost occupies
half of the avail. space in the main window.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It should occupy a smaller space.
This temporary fix sets the size to 150px.

This one is a better fix. It packs the bottom panel with no-shrink, no-resize, and
packs the documents with +shrink, +resize.
