I did edit xorg.conf changing the driver from vesa to openchrome. After restart it got blank screen after login. Then i using safemode to change driver to vesa and it worked. Then i try untick "show this dialog on startup" splash screen on normal mode. Then i changing back driver to openchrome on safemode and then i login on normal mode and its now fine. The problem right is the splash screen which it make cannot login. It always return to login screen. http://www.linuxmint.com/pictures/screenshots/julia/thumb_mintwelcome.png

Try to disable compiz or AIGLX.

To disable AIGLX, you could use following command in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf by adding option:
   Option "AIGLX" "false"
