Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Trying to move from windows/itunes to ubuntu/rythymbox.

I recently installed Ubuntu 10.10-desktop-ja-remix.

With my combination of mp3s (VBR) and m4a (apple lossless) after about 2-3 hours of continuous play,
suddenly songs play with static.

This is for my media PC so this is one of my major use-cases.
I have this pc connected to USB speakers, so my output source is digital.

I normally do a search, hit shuffle and play. During playback the pc is not touched at all, no stopping or skipping of songs.

I would guess that some buffer is getting corrupted some where.

I have experienced no issues with playing m4a files directly.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.
