Bug Description
During the installation of Dapper Drake "server installation" on a HP Proliant DL320 G3 using iLO Remote Control and virtual media, the remote control screen goes blank and you cannot proceed with the installation unless a local keyboard and monitor is attached. Changing the VGA option to 600x480x16 resolves this problem during the installation.
Also once the OS boots up, unless you add the option "vga=0x311" to the boot command in GRUB you cannot remote control the server using iLO, you get a blank screen.
This is a problem where servers are operated headless ie without a keyboard, mouse or monitor attached and/or on remote sites.

This is just to confirm the bug from another person.
I have seen the same issue and the workaround works for me. I'm running ILO firmware 1.89. The box I was using is a bl20p (blade server) and ILO is the only console available, so I was pretty lost until I found this bug report :)
Also, just as an aside, I tried CentOS 5 beta on the same system and it didn't have the problem, so it may be something that can be compared between boot systems or it may be fixed in a different kernel version.
Ubuntu version is 6.06.1 LTS
