no desptop effects on i945

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

i cannot enable desktop effects since maverick meercat.
this continues now within natty
thus unity desktop has no panels at all

using latest packages from proposed

and i get this

libglib has made a mess of my 32-bit laptop before in lucid alpha. but its not that hard this time
