Bug Description

I am using archlinux, gnome 2.32.1, networkmanager 0.8.2

i tried to patch network-manager-applet to get indicator supoort, failed at the firest time.

i was using network-manager-applet 0.8.2 and applying ubuntu patches, then run autoreconf and then run ./configure --enable-appindicator, but there is a WARNNING, --enable-appindicator wasn't recognized by ./configure.

then i change the patch, remove indicator detection part, build successfully with indicator support.

but nm-applet break my network connection, shows network is disconnected. nmcli dev shows wlan0 unavailable. but its all ok if chanage to use unpatches version of nm-applet.

i mean i can't Enable Networking with indicator patch applied nm-applet. click the menu item only shows network disconnected. and the disable notification function also doesn't work. but edit connections function works.

It works fine here, but it's hard to tell which revision of the patch you were using... Please, check out what is currently in the lp:~network-manager/network-manager-applet/ubuntu.head bzr branch for the latest copy of the patch and try to apply that. I guess it might work.

I added a task for Arch Linux, but it will be missing a link to their bugzilla. Any chance you can add that so I can maybe look at an upstream bug on spare time?

Since it works for the Ubuntu packages (they are built and available on Natty), I'm marking the Ubuntu task Invalid.

Changed in network-manager-applet (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
