Bug Description

Binary package hint: quarry

I tried to resume previously saved go-game and choose to use GnuGo engine as one of player. But quarry tries to use GRhino engine instead and fails because GRhino doesn't support go.

Looks like Quarry simply uses first registered GTP engine, as if I put GnuGo on first place in the engine list everything working just fine.

Fixed upstream (as of ten minutes ago)

The problem was actually that Quarry attempted to intelligently filter GTP clients that couldn't play the appropriate game type from the list... then walked the unfiltered list counting steps to find the selected index. Rather than pass a filtered list up the chain to where it needs to be read, for now we just don't filter.

This bug should be fixed in latest Quarry release - 0.3.
I've created Ubuntu packages of latest Quarry release - 0.3.0.1, see:

https://code.launchpad.net/~baltix-members/+recipe/quarry-git

It would be nice to see Quarry 0.3 in Ubuntu :)

Quarry in Ubuntu is very old and buggy - 0.2 version was released on 2006 :(
Development of quarry has been taken over here: https://gitorious.org/quarry/pages/Home

Latest Quarry code from https://gitorious.org/quarry/quarry-buildfixes builds fine - I've created packaging recipe, see https://code.launchpad.net/~quarry-team/+recipe/quarry-git

Quarry 0.3.0.1 packages for Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and newer are in official Ubuntu/Baltix Linux OS repository - ppa:baltix-members , see
https://launchpad.net/~baltix-members/+archive/ppa

Would be nice if the current stable version 0.3.0.1 (released on 2011) could be included into Ubuntu, see LP bug #1217753 for more info.

Changed in baltix:
